Odwiedzając targi płyt winylowych Beatrice poznała kolekcjonerów tych nagrań i przeprowadziła z nimi wywiady. Chciała pokazać duszę polskiej społeczności przez winylową soczewkę.

• Jaka muzyka grała w ich domach, kiedy dorastali?
• Czy ich rodzice także zbierali płyty?
• Jakie są ich najważniejsze płyty z dzieciństwa?
• Jaka jest ich ulubiona płyta winylowa wszech czasów?
• A kiedy zdmuchniemy kurz z ich winylowych kolekcji, to czego dowiemy się o tych wpływowych postaciach?

Wernisaż połączony będzie z DJ setem i małymi targami winylowymi.

Muzyka, ludzie i polskie klimaty. O to właśnie chodzi w Bardzo Vinyl.

The exhibition organized in Elektra will feature a selection of photos taken as part of the project, accompanied by excerpts from interviews with collectors by Beatrice.

Beatrice Rossano moved to Warsaw from Naples, Italy during summer 2020, right in the middle of the developing COVID-19 pandemic. During that time most activities were forbidden and some of the only social gatherings allowed during lockdown were outdoor vinyl records markets. It is in these outdoor vinyl oases that Beatrice met most of the vinyl record collectors that have been interviewed for Bardzo Vinyl.

Beatrice thought it would be interesting to display the soul of the Polish and Neapolitan community through a vinyl lens. Who are these underground DJs and ravenous record collectors? What kind of music was playing in their houses as they grew up? Did their parents own records? What are the influential records from their childhood? What is their all-time favorite vinyl record? When we blow off the dust from their vinyl collections, what is revealed about these influential characters?

A crew of international photographers (Daniel Rusty, Faustka Lukowska, Federica Limone, Parjanya Sarma, Vincenzo Noletto) captured these private conversations, the collectors, their collections in the most intimate of environments, and their vinyl listening rooms. The result of all this work is displayed here.

Music, people, and Polish vibes. That’s what Bardzo Vinyl is about.

Bio: Beatrice Rossano

Raised in Naples, Italy, Beatrice is currently in Warsaw working in Supply Chain Logistics. She has worked as a contributing writer in Italy. Above all, Beatrice is a Stand-Up Comedian and co-founder of The Comedy Hole (@thecomedyhole). She enjoys digging through vinyl records in markets, meeting new people, and drinking coffee. Her all-time favorite record is Jorge Ben, Salve Simpatia. Or maybe Charlie Parker And Dizzy Gillespie, Bird And Diz. This is an impossible question to answer.
